At The Beginning of Mind

It is fun to observe the different ways in which the mind BEGINS moving in any given moment!

If you slow down enough, you might realize that the entire world as we seem to be entering (OR expecting to experience the world AS IT APPEARS TO BE) is actually RECONSTRUCTED in the mind first!

Some parts of the RECONSTRUCTED WORLD is factual - like geography, etc. However, most 'soft' COMPONENTS (but having the 'hardest' impact on you) of the world you are EXPECTING to step-in, in the NEXT MOMENT, is pure IMAGINATION largely based on PAST experiences. The opportunity is to use more of CHOICE instead of the DEFAULT instinctive (or conditioned) imagination.

The 'danger' is that it is mostly the NEGATIVE past impressions that dominate our world view. Once you realize that YOUR IMAGINATION is the SOURCE of your upcoming experiences then you have better control over results achieved.

Try it is out, it is the easiest way to get a taste of omnipotency!

Shifts in Being

Let me notice WHAT my current World is
What am I thinking about people around me and my current situation
These perceptions are likely to persist even in new circumstances
My circumstances are arising out of my own internal conversations
What are my opinions about the recent (and older) happenings in my life?
WHO do I think is wrong? WHAT do I think is wrong?
Irrespective of the apparent truth, these stories are my own creations!
In the external world, I will continue to SEE whatever is in My Mind!
The more I am attached to my opinions the more they will show up in new people and places
The way out is to simply start LOOKING at the world coming from my Highest Vision of the life I wish to experience

Mind as a Vessel: A Meditation Tool

  1. Watch your mind as if it were a Vessel
  2. Observe, WHAT the vessel is filled with
  3. Gradually, EMPTY the Vessel
  4. Try to remain in The Gap as long as possible - SURRENDER and yet do not go astray
  5. Sooner or later, The Vessel will be filled with some memory, thought, image or concept
  6. Empty the vessel and repeat the steps
After a few repetitions see what its does to the quality of your BEING

Share the results!

The Monkey Mind

Mind loves to Mimic and it keeps REPEATING that Mimicry.

If you notice, the 'current' EXPERIENCE is almost always a repetition.

Where is the originality?

At another level, Mind often works like a photocopying machine. You can go ahead and even say that the Universe (at least, as it occurs to you)is a photocopy of the contents your mind.

If you are ALERT and happen to observe when your mind is just about to START A COPY, then LOOK at the SOURCE: WHAT is getting copied?

If it is garbage, throw it out!

THEN, you have a CHOICE to CREATE something afresh!

Excited & Exulting!

Dictionary Entries:
Excited: Stimulated to activity; brisk

Exult: Show or feel a lively or triumphant joy; rejoice exceedingly; be highly elated or jubilant
When does one leap with joy triumphantly? When the COMING moment has "ALL" THAT YOU WOULD CHOOSE TO HAPPEN! Not the routine stuff, BUT the things that you had imagined might happen someday...It is like a MIRACLE catching you by surprise!

Try this exercise:
SET an EXPECTATION for the NEXT moment: CHOOSE what you would like CREATE in a situation or in a relationship, at this very moment. Now, internally in your mind, IMAGINE ALL that you wish to CREATE has already happened in the COMING moment (experience it, in vivid detail!).
Get a glimpse of exultation?

Next, how can one REMAIN (or, at least, RE-CREATE at will being) excited & exulting?

By setting consistent expectations continually!

Art of Detached Indulgence

Should you be detached or indulgent?

Renounce or Celebrate?

Withdraw or participate?

Jump in or Run away?

We look at Carlos Castenada's Don Juan:
People hardly ever realize that we can cut anything from our lives, any time, just like that. For example, smoking and drinking are nothing. Nothing at all if we want to drop them. Only one thing is indispensable for anything we do; the spirit. One can't do without the spirit.

I have no routines or personal history. One day I found out that they were no longer necessary for me and, like drinking, I dropped them. One must have the desire to drop them and then one must proceed harmoniously to chop them off, little by little. If you have no personal history, no explanations are needed; nobody is angry or disillusioned with your acts. And above all no one pins you down with their thoughts. It is best to erase all personal history because that makes us free from the encumbering thoughts of other people. I have, little by little, created a fog around me and my life. And now nobody knows for sure who I am or what I do. Not even I. How can I know who I am, when I am all this?
Little by little you must create a fog around yourself; you must erase everything around you until nothing can be taken for granted, until nothing is any longer for sure, or real. Your problem now is that you're too real. Your endeavors are too real; your moods are too real. Don't take things so for granted. You must begin to erase yourself.
Mumbo Jumbo? Does it make sense? Can we call it the Art of Detached Indulgence?

Ruthlessly Authentic

We have a mask for everyone around us...Very soon we start identifying with those masks and lose with our Authentic Self.

Consensus and Conformity may give you temporary peace, but eventually destroys you. You cannot follow someone else's religion, insights, methods or techniques. You have to CREATE your own path.

Peter Shepherd says :

My goal in life has been to break free of the consensus trance, to find instead my own truth and to help others find their own truth also. To transform and be free, like a caterpillar becomes a butterfly.

Because we are each such different individuals, with personal goals and at different stages on our various paths, I have found there is no singular tool for transformation...
